The chestnut pan with holes in the bottom is a traditional utensil, always made out of steel plate for ruggedness. This design of chestnut pan is exclusively for use on hot coals.
The iron vegetables roasting pan, with holes on the bottom, is the primary utensil traditionally used for roasting vegetables over embers or BBQ. #OUTDOOR range made of iron blued through a surface thermal treatment: no coating. The blue colour of iron is due to a thermal treatment that provides pans with temporary protection against oxidation during storage and transport.
Extra thickness: lightweight range, easy to handle. Heats up quickly, excellent caramelization of juices.
Welded iron handle, curved French-style: easy and ergonomic handling.
Care: scrape with a brush and lightly oil.
Why steel?
As traditional French cuisine favourites, steel frying pans have been used for generations. Ther’es no better metal for searing, grilling and browning thanks to a process called the Maillard reaction: a reaction where surface sugars caramelize, while leaving the centre soft. It is natural, uncoated, wear-free and improves over time pan that can be passed down from generation to generation. What’s more, it’s flared and rounded Lyonnaise shape makes it easier to stir or toss the pan’s contents. The riveted French-style handle is comfy to hold and will keep your hand far enough away from the heat source.
Why is it blue?
This range of steel pans is blue due to a thermal treatment that naturally protects them from oxidation.
